Housing and Support Services in Mendip and South Somerset
£36,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week
YMCA Brunel Group is a dynamic charitable organisation providing a range of services to children, young people and families across Bath, Bristol, Wiltshire and the East of Somerset. Our work covers a wide range of areas including charitable work in support & advice, accommodation, family work, health & wellbeing and youth work as well as social enterprise delivery. We are also a newly Registered Provider of Social Housing.
The Operations Manager is a new post that will manage the operational delivery of Housing and Support services for young people aged 16-25 across the East of Somerset (South Somerset and Mendip), further developing our high quality services and relationships by engaging with communities and agencies within the Mendip and South Somerset areas and across Somerset. This post is crucial to the delivery of our vital services for vulnerable and homeless young people delivering our commissioned, contracted and social enterprise offer.
We are looking for someone with a strong track record of managing and developing housing and support services, who can take a creative approach to delivering a broad range of supported housing services, and help to realise new social enterprise opportunities. The successful applicant will report directly to the Director of Housing and Support and also work closely with other members of the Senior Leadership Team to provide a holistic offer for young people both in our accommodation and the wider community.
You will be the first point of contact for public bodies and local agencies on service delivery matters. You will be expected to lead the operational delivery of commissioned services with the County Council, contracted services with District Councils as well as new social enterprise models of service delivery. You will have significant experience of working with and for vulnerable people, housing management and facilities and performance management ideally in multi-site teams in your previous role. You should also understand the affects and duties around homelessness as well as a commitment to delivering a person centred, trauma informed approach for every young person enabling them to move to sustainable independence.

You will be required to work on a rota which includes days, evenings and weekends within our supported housing project and dispersed accommodation units
